Visiting Hours: A TGSC Short

Hospital
Tokyo, Japan
July 2012

He wasn’t exactly sure what he remembered last.

It was either running in front of the kid or falling back on the floor – either way, there was a lot of adrenaline involved in what he did back at the bank. The remaining memories were like short bursts in his brain; Peters recalled running, recalled yelling, recalled talking in straight Japanese and asking for the people to be calm and for the criminals to surrender.

He then recalled a gun shoved hastily in the direction of a child cowering in a corner. Peters’ mind ticked and before he knew it, he was running and throwing himself in front of the child at the very last second.

Before he knew it, there were lights everywhere, screaming all over, and he swore he could feel some kind of feeling lodged in his stomach or somewhere near his ribs. He couldn’t remember. There was too much pain to even focus properly.

At the brink of falling into black, Peters briefly wondered if the kid was okay.

As his associates went nuts and attempted to rectify the situation, all the way back in HQ did Touta Matsuda receive reports. One of the agents who was a good friend of Peters stammered the news to him before running straight to where A was located. It took him a good amount of seconds to process the information before letting out a large curse, sprinting away and out of the building.

“Peters was shot when they were trying to round up the criminals at the bank. Don’t know how he is, they’re sending him to the hospital nearest – he’s bleeding everywhere, the poor chap, the others were panicking–”

The only thing Touta could process was how the goddamn moron might have forgotten to slide on his bulletproof wear that morning.

Invitation: A TGSC Short

Kiyoshi Building
Forensic Lab
Tokyo, Japan
December 2013
8:25PM

Touta paused in front of the door and checked his watch.

It was currently five minutes before half-past eight. He was five minutes early, miraculously; there had been no need to take the subway as the building was merely a short walk away from HQ. The Japanese could vividly remember the words that his superior had told him that morning. He reflected on them as he stood in the hallway, waiting for whomever it was to come out.

Squad A was to employ a forensic scientist into their team.

All right – maybe not exactly employ, as the term was too professional, too cold even. Touta licked the bottom of his lip, adopt seemed to work more. He hummed as he rolled the word in his head; adopting a new member. Having a new member placed into their family.

The thought was odd, in all honesty. He had already gotten used to having three of them in their merry little band of misfits (as Peters tended to call them on some occasions). Surely adding another one would be awkward.

The man exhaled and glanced at his watch again. Two minutes before the prescribed meeting time. He wasn’t even sure if he was supposed to be waiting there – it wasn’t as if there were any chairs or a designated waiting area on the floor. He shifted his weight to another leg and instead looked straight ahead at the door that bore a sign ‘FOR EMPLOYEES ONLY’.

Touta suddenly realized that he didn’t even know the man – or woman’s – name, let alone their appearance or how old they were. He hastily took his phone out his pocket and began to text the superior for details, not wanting to get the wrong person. However, just as he had began to type the starting words, the door creaked open slightly and a small beam of light escaped.

He looked up to see a head full of messy, dark brown hair. He head was looking down as if staring at his shoes, and slowly it moved up.

Launching: The Genesis Celebration

Good morning, Darlings, and happy August! You know what that means! <3

"It's time to launch."
Welcome to the Genesis Celebration! After months of planning and (attempting to) get all the graphics done, I'm happy to welcome you all to a month of celebrating my three years on here. <3 To be honest, the Celebration officially starts tomorrow, but I was really excited to tell you guys what exactly to be expecting for this month.

From today until August 30, Russ' Updates will shortly be moved to Sundays. That is so that I can tell you guys who and what to expect for the next six days. From Monday until Saturday, I'll be posting once on each day. Expect three graphics and three shorts to be posted per week. :)

There will be a total of five main 'parts' for this Celebration. The first four will feature one unique character per part, while the fifth focuses on all of them as one main unit.

"This will be fun."
Unlike The Graduation Celebration wherein I revealed in what order the projects would be, I'm leaving the order for The Genesis Celebration as a surprise! You guys already know which characters will make an appearance...all that's left is to guess who goes first and who goes last. ;D

Back to the name of the Celebration - you may be wondering, Russie, why 'Gensis'?

Genesis is a Greek word meaning beginning. Since I focused on my high school works last March, I decided to dig deep into my roots this time around and focus on the OCs who have helped me get where I am right now. Said characters have been here since the beginning, and they've been with me as I went through my worse times and my better ones as a writer. So why not celebrate them, right?

It's going to be a great month - I can feel it - and despite the Celebration coinciding with the start of my college life, I'm definitely ready to give it my all.

See you on Sunday for the first TGSC-related RussDate! Have an amazing August. <3
